
A Centre for Dialogue and Integration
The foundation stone for this Animation Centre was blessed by Dr. A. Mathias Mundadan CMI, the then Provincial of the CMI Sacred Heart Province,Kalamassery on 16.01.1991.It was the charism of this venerable founder that inspired the starting of this centre: his dedication to study, teaching and research; his spiritual contemplative life, which animated his preaching and pastoral ministry.
On this day the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI) celebrated the holy memory of the 150th death anniversary of Father ThomasPalackal, the senior most of their three founders.(He died on 16.01.1841). It is this charism, which the Centre tries to reincarnate through its various programmes providing facilities for study and research, conducting courses in biblical and other religious topics, offering opportunities for retreats and prayer sessions for special groups,etc.

On 16.1.1994 ( The 153rd Death anniversary of father pallakal ) The foundation stone was layed by the then prior general, Dr Thomas Mambra CMI And the construction work started. On 16.01.1996 (The 155th death anniversary of father Palakkal),The building was blessed by the provincial of the Secrete Heart Province Rev Dr Mathias Mundadan.On 15-02-1996 Msgr. Eberhard Muhldacher, Episcopal Vicar of the diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart, Performed the unveiling ceremony of palakkal panel in the entrance lobby. He and his two companions where profusely greeted by those Assembled on the occasion and gratefully remembered for the substantial help the centre received from the Diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart through the kind mediation of messenger Muhlbacher.
The formal inauguration of the Centre was performed by the then Mager Archbishop of the Syro-Malaber Church, His Eminance Anthony Cardinal Padiyara , Arch Bishop of Ernakulam- Angamally.About 300 persons participated in the Inaugural celebration. Very Reveral Father Thomas Mambra,the CMI Prior General unveiled a portrait of Agariya Thomas Palakkal to be installed in the library of the Centre.
